From May – September the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) conducts surveillance of adult mosquitoes.


Burning
Burning is permitted on Saturday mornings from 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Burning at other times (Monday – Friday, no Sundays or holidays) requires a burn permit. Burn permits can be obtained at the Township office, free of charge. You are required to contact the Township office to activate permit on days you wish to burn. You are only permitted to burn paper, cardboard, wood and brush. No leaves, plastic or garbage. During dry conditions, burn bans will be issued.

Report any downed lines ASAP by calling 911. Customers should assume all downed or low-hanging power lines are energized and dangerous. Stay at least 30 feet away and use extra caution where downed lines are tangled in trees or other debris.

Customers who experience a service interruption due to weather are encouraged to report their outage by calling 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877), texting OUT to LIGHTS (544487) or clicking the “Report Outage” link on www.firstenergycorp.com. If you’re not signed up for outage alerts and text messaging, now is a great time to do so.
